Following the announcement last week of the new PINA convention dates, we are pleased to announce that Mr Greg Urwin, the Secretary General for the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat is still giving the keynote address at the convention.

Given his commitment and close association with the regional media, PINA appreciates his acceptance of the invitation . He will adrress the Pacific media at the convention after the Forum Leaders Meeting in Papua New Guinea in October, where the Forum Island Leaders would have discussed the draft "Pacific Plan".

This year's convention theme is "Media Freedom in a Transistional Society".

Registrations for the convention have started to arrive at the Secretariat and I'm sending as attachment the registration forms for your information.

Also part of the convention is the Trade Exihibition for companies and organisations wanting to showcase their products and services. Registration forms for the Trade Exhibition will be sent next week.

Costs of the exibition is USD$5,000 per booth. This covers the booth, free registration for 2 team members, security for the duration of the exihibition, free pass to all convention activities including, retreat, cocktails and sponsored dinner during the convention and inclusion in the convention program.

Booth spaces are still available, please send me an e-mail for those who are interested or to the organising committee chairperson and President of the Media Council in Tonga, Mr Pesi Fonua on e-mail: vapress@matangitonga.to or to Katalina Tohi on e-mail: k_tohi@tbc.to.

As mentioned before, convention registration fees are:
